What can i say, i just dont have time to blog like i used to but i feel i need to catch you up on how things are going on the rock. The best way I can think of will be to do some mini season recaps, at time of writing this im sat at 16/06/22 in game, we start this blog way back in 2018 From this point I will be posting regular updates via twitter and @NinjaCookiesFM

Our first in the premier league, many expected us to go straight back down, despite being told in a board meeting it would take a year to achieve Semi Pro status we actually managed it a day before the first game of the season, which whilst a blessing was damned annoying as we had missed out on several signings due to contracts not being good enough.
Survival was all we hoped for so imagine our shock when we went unbeaten in our first 4, a 0-0 draw against reigning champions Europa as our first game in the league was perfect, it gave the lads the confidence to go on and beat both Mons Calpe and St Josephs before another draw against Lynx. At this point you would forgive me for taking my mind off the relegation battle and thinking a little higher, you see many expected us to fight relegation but I was aiming a little higher, with 10 in the league I will not deny, a top half finish is where i had my sights set.
A 0-1 loss to Gib Phoenix brought us back down to earth, well at least until the next game.

Game of the Season

Having the start to the season we did it would have been understandable that the squad felt confident, however our first loss in the top league rather than come expectedly we felt aggrieved, we wanted to avenge the loss and we did so in style.
A 5th minute goal was only a sign of things to come we was 1-0 up and probably over confident, maybe showing signs of complacency we would actually concede the next 2 goals and it only took until the 21st minute and we were behind, this was the kind of form I expected us to face, we aimed to fight back and 12 minutes later we pegged them back, at Half Time the score sat at 2-2 and the game looked poised for an end to end 2nd half but what followed no one would have suggested pre game. Learde would complete a hat trick whilst fellow striker and AMC Lara and Lopez Lopez would bag braces in what turned out a 7-2 rout.
The reason I picked this game as Game of the Season is simple, it was the point in the game where we knew it, we belonged here and were willing to fight when the going got tough and were not just willing to roll over and have our tummies tickled.

The next 5 games only gained us 4 points, losses to Lincoln (0-2) and Europa (0-2) were par for the course, we have to remember our place in the pack here a 1-3 loss to Mons Calpe wasnt appreciate especially having beaten them 5-0 in our previous encounter. A late equaliser was enough for a point against Gibraltar Utd and a come from behind victory against Leo FC (2-1)

We couldnt mount any consistency within the season, only twice during the season did we see back to back wins and never more than

2 wins on the bounce. In fact i can comfortably end this season recap at the final 5 fixtures and you would have had read the same segment

The Run In

With 5 to go we saw ourselves in 6th place, we had already survived relegation but an Arsenal-esque 2nd half of the season saw us slip from Euro qualification down to a mid table struggle, we could no longer grasp the top 3, but that was never on the cards anyway, mid table and personal pride was what we were fighting for a 3-1 win over Man 62 was followed by a 2-0 loss to Gibraltar Utd however it was the next game a solid 5-1 hammering of Gib Phoenix was all the proof i needed that with a solid pre season we could actually be challenging the top 3 clubs a loss to Lincoln wasnt as bad as it sounded as we bagged a trio in a 5-3 game and if anything was to sum up our season, a pathetic 0-0 was our season ender.

End of Season

5th in our first top flight league appearance, amazing and so unexpected

Our top goalscorer Learde bagged 14 but it took him twice as many games played to achieve that total, Jesse Victory was our highest rated player a 7.28. Learde being the only player to play every game of the season pulled a respectable 7.14 avg. I could sit here and say this is good, but im not, im a man of very unreasonable expectations and want the world now not to wait for it, so a goal every other game and a sub 7.5 avg are both below my own aims, it certainly gives us something to build on.

We have done the club proud and if we can get a solid transfer window there is no reason we cannot be challenging for the top 3 spots within the next few years.
